Welcome Darren Moody

Darren Moody to become Yaxley FC Men's Reserve Team Manager

Yaxley Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Darren Moody as new Manager of the men's reserve team, as of today.

Raphael Frascogna, Yaxley's Director of Football said: "We are really happy to welcome Darren to Leading Drove. He has proven himself to be an excellent coach who perfectly aligns with our vision of bringing young, talented players through from youth football into the adult game.

"Darren and his team impressed us during the lengthy discussions we had leading up to this announcement. Their collegiate approach, youth talent ID skills and empathetic management style is a good match for us. The Co-Chairs and first team managers are all on board with Darren's plan and we will move quickly to help him settle ahead of a busy pre-season".

Moody said: "We're delighted to be joining Yaxley Football Club and are very grateful to be given the opportunity. This club is where I played the majority of my youth football and my late dad was involved in management of one of the youth teams here at the time also.

"We have had several offers in recent months, but were adamant we had to join the right club that matched our philosophy in terms of pathways for young players and the timing had to be right, too.

"We look forward to hopefully developing players for the first team as well as having success on the pitch with the reserves and really feel this football club is moving in the right direction. We can't wait to get started"

Darren's previous roles have included time as Head of Youth & Reserve Team Manager at Peterborough Northern Star, Academy Scout at Peterborough United, First Team Manager at Ketton and at Netherton United - both in the PDFL Premier Division.

His staff will include experienced coaches Steve Poultney and Mark Plummer.
