England Touch Rugby - reissued governance.

Following feedback from our members, we at England Touch feel that it is important to highlight the Values which are a core component of the ETA’s Mission to provide opportunities for everyone to play Touch, in a fun and safe environment and to support the game of Touch in England, facilitating education and training opportunities.

The ETA aim to provide opportunities for everyone to participate in a way that suits them, on a regular basis in a high quality and friendly environment. The ETA prides itself of its core Values of being Inclusive, Transparent, United and Ambitious and these are pivotal in the achievement of our Mission.

INCLUSIVE
Our sport is a sport for all
We will actively promote and make available opportunities for sustained participation in Touch to the greatest number and range of people

TRANSPARENT
Central to our fabric and underpins our sport
We will be open, ethical and set the highest standards in everything we do, generated on and off the field, through honesty, integrity and fair play

UNITED
Success in our sport is only achieved by working together
We will inspire unity and collaboration in all we do. We are one team, with common goals and shared values

AMBITIOUS
Strong desire and determination to succeed in our sport
We will not limit our goals or imagination by circumstances in the present, we will envision ambitions beyond boundaries as we improve ourselves and the game of Touch

RESPECT
Characterises the basis of our sport
We will promote respect for players, coaches, referees, volunteers and anyone involved in our game at any level. Everyone has something to contribute
Every club, player, and individual who are associated or affiliated with the ETA, is expected to uphold these Values and actively demonstrate these in all their activities, both on and off the playing field.

This is embedded in the ETA’s Code of Conduct for All which states:
“It is the responsibility of all Participants to understand England Touch’s standards and expectations under the Code of Conduct and to help us ensure that the Code is applied by all Touch participants in England.”

All Participants must in particular:
• Discourage all instances of unsporting behaviour;
• Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their age, ethnic origin, gender, special needs, including learning and physical disabilities, class or social background, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, colour or political persuasion;
• Safeguard the wellbeing of Children and protect them from abuse and poor practice; and
• Promote equality and diversity throughout the game.

Behaviour such as bullying, harassment, or discrimination against any member, teammate or individual is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in any circumstances. Where it is established that any of our members are failing, whether directly or indirectly, to enshrine these Values and our Code of Practice, or that any behaviour that is contrary to these is present, or has occurred, the ETA may take appropriate measures, through our formal processes, to enable all our members to enjoy the sport of Touch and to ensure that the ETA’s Mission is not compromised. England Touch may take action under the Disciplinary Regulations which may result in Sanctions including fines and suspension.
Should any member feel that any behaviour above has occurred, or they have concerns they wish to raise, they can do so in confidence by emailing the ETA Governance Director at governance@englandtouch.org.uk.

Thank you all for your continued support.
Kind regards
The England Touch team
