"The shadow drill is a great way to practice taking a ball with a batsman present.
As you can see in the clip you need the feeder throwing the ball from about fifteen yards away. The batsman’s job is to then play as many shots as possible, without actually hitting the ball.
The key to the drill is to not let the batsman distract you from catching the ball. Keep watching the ball all the way from the throwers hand right into the heart of your gloves. The more you do this drill, the more you train your mind for match situation."
