    Throwing in cricket

    icrick

How to improve your throwing action:

"Having a good arm can be a major asset to any cricketer. To develop a strong, accurate arm your technique must be correct.

It’s important that you have a solid base when throwing, otherwise it is very hard to get any power into your arm. Keep your feet just slightly wider than shoulder width apart and align them towards your target. Keep your front foot pointing at your target at all times.

Take your throwing arm back as far as it will go and turn your wrist away from your target. Then point your front arm at your target and drive your throwing arm throw your target. Keeping your arm as high as your shoulder. Try to keep your head and chest towards your target at all times. This will give you power to go over your front leg.

Don’t release the back foot off the ground until the ball has been released and remember back yourself with every throw."
