Members will be aware that one of the Club’s essential finance streams, the car boot sale, has been closed during the coronavirus lockdown. This is having a severe impact on the Club’s finances, especially as the weather at this time of year brings more vendors to the event. Now that outdoor markets are allowed to open again, the Club is awaiting confirmation from the Council that the car boot sale can open in the near future.
The earliest that this could happen is Sunday 28th June.
In order to run the car boot sale, the Club needs personnel to assist with car parking and fees collection on Sunday mornings. For many years this role has been carried out by Committee members who are well past their retirement age, and in some cases not enjoying sufficiently good health. Therefore the Club urgently needs to recruit new operatives to take on this role. We are looking for people who could either take on the role every week or who would be prepared to do it on a rota basis. The Club is prepared to provide incentives for those willing to take on the role, details of which can be obtained through enquiry.
If you would be interested, please contact one of Dave Barber, Ross Cooper or Nick Middleton.
Thanks
