Acle United Youth FC History 2 of 3

2. History of Acle United Youth Football Club

ACLE UTD YOUTH FC HISTORY

In June 2012 a group of local parents set about forming a local football club for the youngsters of Acle and surrounding villages, filling the gap that had existed for several years. From a casual kick-about on Saturday mornings for all ages, the Club quickly grew, affiliating to the Norfolk FA via the Senior Club with an U10’s team playing in the Norfolk & Suffolk Youth League and an U7’s team being affiliated for friendly matches in the first year.

In 2013 the Youth Organisation were successful in obtaining a £5,000 grant from the Football Foundation to launch three new teams over two years and there are now four teams playing in the league, U11’s, U9’s, U8’s and U7’s.

Training has been separated into different age groups and a new U7’s team will be launched next year. We are always happy to hear from any volunteers who would like to become involved in the running of the Club, whether from a training/refereeing point of view or with fundraising, helping in the tea room or becoming part of the Committee.

Training is available through the Norfolk FA so even if you have not done anything like this before, please do not be put off! The Club undertakes CRB checks on all our coaching staff via the Norfolk FA.
