Adderbury Park Football Club are delighted to announce Ash Wingrove as the new 1st team manager for the 2024/25 season.
Ash is very familiar with the club having previously played for APFC for several years. He has developed great local links and a strong start in team management having previously managed Longford Park, setting thew club up from scratch and winning the BDLJ Coronation Cup, before making the move across to Easington Sports where he managed their Development team, building a young and exciting side and cementing them in a tough Hellenic Div 2 and reaching two cup semi-finals.
In what is a summer of change at the club, we look forward to Ash working with our existing squad and bringing some fresh faces in to help us challenge to regain the OSL league title and also build on the huge success Ben Lovatt had over the last two seasons.
Ash is a Level 3 qualified coach and has the passion, drive and fresh ideas to take the club forward.
Ash will announce pre-season details shortly, with it being seen as a fresh start and open to all to come and challenge for a place and to be part of an exciting new phase at the club.
Ricky Hogan joins as Ash's assistant manager and he will announce further additions to his backroom team in due course.
Ash had this to say on his appointment:
"I'm extremely excited to take up my new position as 1st Team Manager at AP. Having previously played for the club, it feels like a great move, as I know the club, how it works and also many of the current players.
I join after Ben Lovatt has had a very successful two seasons in charge with the current squad and he's done a great job, so expectations from myself will be very high in what we need to deliver.
My ambition with taking this role will be to develop Adderbury into a Step 6 Squad over the next few seasons, with the new ground move on the horizon, this will give us the ability to progress.
I'd like to thank James Collier for his hard work in getting this over the line and I cannot wait to get started in preseason."
We wish Ash all the best for the new season and are excited to see what he can achieve.
