2. Why sponsor Ashton Ladysmith CC?

Ashton Ladysmith is a long standing club, originating from Ashton St. James Church in 1835. The club has played at various locations around Ashton-under-Lyne until we were granted a new ground, based on Rose Hill Road on the site of Ladysmith barracks. Since moving to this new location, the club has changed it's name to reference it's new bonds with the community and it's new home.

Since arriving on Rose Hill road, the club has forged strong bonds with the community and is steadily growing. On the field, the club enjoyed it's strongest season, finishing 4th in the 1st division.

The club is now introducing junior teams, for the first time in the clubs history as a signal of intent, on how they are sustainable, growing and a key pillar of the area. Being only 1 of 2 clubs in Ashton-under-Lyne, the club is proving very popular.

We have college teams, T20 teams and cup finals held at our ground such is the quality of our ground and facilities.

The club is also regularly publicised in local press and has strong ties with local schools, colleges and the people of Tameside who recognise our position as a growing organisation.

We do not charge members a joining fee, therefore our members base is very strong and the key thing that keeps people at our club, is we are a family club. We celebrate together, lose together and are all very close friends which is the key to our club surviving for almost 200 years.

Sponsorship will help to fund junior cricket, to develop the next crop of talented cricketers from the area and also continue to help us improve the quality of the area for more cricket to be played here for the rest of the people of Tameside.
