Alex joined The Millers from Concord Rangers in July 2023, and went on to make 32 appearances, scoring six goals and assisting two before picking up an injury against National League side Dagenham & Redbridge which saw the striker score in a 2-0 victory, that injury ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

Prior to joining Aveley, he was also previously managed by Danny Scopes when the duo were at Concord Rangers, and Hernandez was part of the Beachboy side who made it to the FA Trophy Final, being defeated at Wembley by EFL League Two side Harrogate Town.

Hernandez has also had a loan spell at East Thurrock United when they were in the Isthmian North where he scored against Coggeshall Town, Bury Town and Hullbridge Sports.
