Evans Cook joined the club in 1988/89 where he played less than a handful of games as he was committed to another club. His quality was evident immediately, big, strong, fast and scored goals for fun.His first full season[1989/90] showed what a force he was.Playing centre forward [upfront]on his own he ended up Top goal scorer with 36 goals in all competitions.Considering,he missed a large part of the season due to suspension was remarkable.
Evans was top goal scorer in 89/90,93/94,96/97,97/98.In all other seasons since 1989 to 2002 he has never been less than Second Top Goal Scorer.
