Comberton United first team have had much success over the last 4 years since they saw themselves relegated from the Kershaw A In the 2014/15 season. With only 14 points, relegation was inevitable after struggling for wins all season as well as the folding of the reserve team, Comberton were down in the dumps. The following season, Kenneth Isbister, former manager of Comberton Crusaders youth team, took over as manager with long serving clubman Andrew Marsh as his assistant. With former players such as Samuel Sabey, James Bolandi and Jamie Berryman returning to the club, as well as several new additions, they saw success again as a well contested battle for the league with Burwell Swifts FC ended in promotion, as the latter won the league, but a new look Comberton side finished second as well winning the Percy Oldham Memorial Cup against Needingworth FC. The future was looking brighter for the club, and the following season delivered more success as the First team overturned a massive lead from Milton FC to take the title back into the promised land of the Kershaw Premier as well as a second successive cup win in the William Cockell cup. After a fanatic start in the Kershaw Premier league, they saw themselves fighting in a relegation battle, as the competition between the best teams in Cambridgeshire proved tougher than most had expected. They battled through and managed to secure 12th place out of 16 teams, ensuring they played in the division for at least another season. With strong additions to the squad this year such as players from Potton FC including Luke Harradine and Callum Forster, as well as Chris Upton from Great Shelford FC, they've seen many well contested games and are currently on course to finish in the top 8 of the league with the potential to move up another couple of places as well as reaching the semi finals of the cup.
