7. Policy Statement on Child Protection and Welfare

POLICY STATEMENT ON CHILD PROTECTION AND WELFARE

Cottingham Tigers RLFC in conjunction with the Rugby Football League Policy Board are committed to ensuring that all players (young persons) are protected and kept safe whilst in the care of officials representing this club.

We will achieve this by:
■ Adopting and adhering to the Rugby Football League Policy Board’s ‘Child Protection Policy and Procedures’. The Club will also be bound by the decisions and recommendations of the Rugby Football League Policy Board.
■ Ensuring all officials are carefully selected, vetted and, where necessary, trained.
■ Ensuring that details of any players medical condition is made available to relevant officials.
■ Giving parents and players information about The Club’s aims and objectives, and giving them an understanding of what they can expect from The Club.
■ Advising parents/carers as to what we expect from them.
■ Letting parents and players know how to voice concerns, and how and who to complain to should the need arise.

Child protection matters will be addressed by the Chairman and the Club Welfare Officer.
