3. West Lancashire League

Following Cassies dominance of the local leagues and with other clubs testing themselves further afield the next logical step for the club was a greater challenge, this came in the shape of entry into the West Lancashire League Division 2 in 2000.

The first season was a huge success, acheiving promotion at the first attempt into Division 1 and winning the Tavern Cup final with a victory against Lytham Town at Barrow's Holker Street ground. This was followed by six years of consolidation in the league until a poor season in 2006/07 led to relegation back to Division 2.

Once again, promotion from Division 2 was acheived at the first possible opportunity and from 2007/08 the team played in Division 1 under the stewardship of ex Dalton United stalwart Alex Ogilvie. Ogilvie stepped down after one season with the club appointing ex Cassies legend and Kirkham & Wesham midfielder Jonathan Lowes as Player Manager. Lowes appointed former Player and great clubman Paul Bell as his assistant and they looked to progress the team from the 10th place finish in 07/08. Their strategy was mixing a core of the experience already at the club with a blend of youth and new faces to freshen things up. This resulted in steady improvements on the field with two 7th place finishes in 08/09 and 09/10
