New faces to join Town

FC Oswestry Town are pleased to announce the signings of Sam Thomas, Dan Hughes, Richie Harris and Jovi Rainford.

Sam is a local lad that has enjoyed spells at Guilsfield, Ellesmere Rangers and St Martins. Sam is a highly competitive centre midfielder with an eye for goal. His physical presence and aerial ability along with his range of passing will only strengthen the side. Ryan Butcher has managed and played with Sam so knows what he is capable of.

Dan Hughes joins from Chirk AAA FC with whom recently won the Welsh Trophy. Dan is a former Wrexham youth player who has also had a spell at St Martins FC under Ryan Butcher and played for Richard Williams-Cooke at Chirk AAA FC. He is a tough tackling left footed defender who is comfortable on the ball and can operate as a full back or a central defender

Richie Harris joins the club also. Richie was an ex Manchester City and Shrewsbury youth player who went on to play for TNS, Newtown , Welshpool and Guilsfield. A bad knee injury hampered him for a while but he is keen to get back playing at this level again. He has a wonderful passing range and a great left foot and his experience will be vital.

Jovi Rainford has joined the club also. Jovi is a winger who can also operate centrally and he represented Yeovil Town up to under 18 level before a spell at the Steve Claridge Football Foundation in 2013. He now lives locally and we welcome him to the club.

They are great signings for the club and it shows a real sign of intent as we look to improve on last year’s solid first season at this level and progress up the league.

The following players from last season have already signaled their intent to stay at the club:
Rob Shone Callum Greybrook
Jack Harris Harrison Millington
Dan Tinsley Craig Harris
Ollie Jones Lewis Jarman
Matty Jones
