2. The Present


Today sees Folly Lane entering with a strong open age squad comprising a first and second team and a very strong youth section, currently with ten teams and looking to add under 9s and Under 10s. However, in order to be as successful as Folly on the pitch, a committed and successful back room team is also needed. Folly Lane ARLFC is run by a committee of dedicated people. They generally meet on the first Monday of each month and manage the running, facilities, funds, discipline and direction of the club.

Each team, in addition to coaching staff, has a dedicated team Manager that has regular meetings and communicates with players and parents support the work of the committee and the coaches. The managers meet one week after the Committee and a member of the Committee attends to update the managers and take their issues to the next committee meeting. These people, along with other dedicated back room staff, are responsible for ensuring that Folly Lane Rugby Club is run efficiently and that the correct facilities can be provided to the players to ensure training and development is to the highest standards. Duties such as preparing match day food to organization fund raising parties are carried out by these people and the jobs that they do and essential to Folly Lane Rugby Club.

The club currently holds the ‘Club Mark’ status and in the process of renewal. We are completely committed to this to ensure the club is run on the correct lines to ensure the development of the players is maximised, at the same time ensuring they are protected at all times and we serve the community in addition to provide fun and healthy exercise. The club is also on a very good financial footling with central accounting and audited accounts available for 2007/2008.
