As we are getting back to rugby I thought that it would be useful to refresh the “Referee Club Protocol”, nothing has really changed however personnel will have changed who may not have seen previous iterations.

One point that I would like to emphasise is that you should contact your referee in the week previously, ideally, by Thursday.

I have also sent this to all our referees and have reinforced that they should confirm receipt of any comms from your Referee Liaison Contact.

Not contacting the referee opens the club up to a potential fine if there are last-minute changes and the referee is not informed.

Your Club Referee Liaison should automatically get a notification of referee appointments for your club, if this is not the case our records need updating.
