Boro' fans have grown to expect disappointment on the opening day of each new season, so it was a pleasant surprise when the Reds raced to a 3-0 lead after 15 minutes, adding another in the second half, before Thurrock rounded off an entertaining match with a goal of their own. The Harrow scorers were Rob Wolleaston, Alwayne Jones, Simeon Akinola, and Garry Jones (with a twice-taken penalty). Evandro Delgado's run to set up the first goal was wonderful, and reminded us what we had missed during his time off through serious injury. Welcome to the 2012/13 season. So far, so good...
