Saturday 15th March, League Cup Quarter Final.

On Saturday we welcome AFC Bentley to the Jones & Co Recreational Ground in the quarter final of the Buckingham Insurance League Cup. We wish a warm welcome to all the players, officials, and supporters of AFC Bentley.

As always entry for the game is £3 for adults, £2 for concessions and free for members. Toms Tea Room will be open for refreshments and the Pavilion will be open for pre and post-match drinks. Also, the Shaft Side Bar will be open throughout the game for alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. The club’s raffle will also be up for grabs so please remember to purchase your tickets. As always, your support is greatly appreciated.

We currently sit in 11th position in the league table, with 29 points after 21 fixtures. On Tuesday we won 4-2 away at Kinsley Boys in the semi-final of the Abacus Lighting Floodlit Cup, with Callum Edwards, Joe Green, Mason Laws and Adam Morrison scoring. Last Saturday we won 3-2 away at Kiveton Miners Welfare, with Jason Kearsley scoring twice, and Rob Singer getting the other goal. On Tuesday 25th February we won 4-1 away at Mickleover Reserves in the quarter final of the Abacus Lighting Floodlit Cup, with Callum Edwards scoring twice, and the other Colliery goals coming from Adam Morrison and Harvey Walker. On Wednesday 19th February we lost 6-0 away at Dinnington Town. On Saturday 15th February we drew 2-2 at home to Glapwell, with Callum Edwards scoring twice.

Our visitors currently sit in sixth place in the table, with 37 points from 21 matches. Last Saturday they lost 4-1 away at Dinnington Town, with Bradley Maddison scoring. On Saturday 8th February they lost 3-0 away at Doncaster City. On Saturday 1st February they lost 3-2 away at Kiveton Miners Welfare, with Mark Baggaley and Luke Flanagan scoring.

The two sides have previously met on 13 occasions, with Colliery winning three, drawing five and losing five of the meetings. The last time that the sides met was on Tuesday 20th August, with the fixture at the Jones & Co Recreational Ground ending as a 0-0 draw.

One to watch for AFC Bentley will be Bradley Sykes. So far this season he has scored 11 times in 18 appearances.
