Ben was signed by Mark Howard from the South East Lancs League having been released by Oldham Athletic. Ben had no trouble settling in and could play anywear. Ben was possibly the most naturally gifted footballer to ever played for the wood. It was no suprise when Stalybridge came knocking and Ben returned to the paid ranks in the Vauxhall Conference league. After becoming a favourite with the bower Fold faithfull Ben moved on in 2007 to Unibond neighbours Ashton United.
