⚫⚪⚫⚪⚫⚪⚫⚪⚫⚪ Leinster Senior Major 1D League Result: SCORE: Kingswood Castle FC 2-4 Ballyfermot United FC GOALS: Nico Byrne ⚽ Kyle Murphy ⚽ REPORT: A bad day at the office as two mistakes & a questionable referee decision for Ballyfermot's third goal cost us dearly in this meeting ? It started so well for us against a good organized outfit. We were on the accentive from the first whistle pinning back the visitors testing their Goalkeeper early doors as Nico Byrne's low drive was brilliantly tipped around the post by the Lawn's shot stopper. We again had Brian O'Reilly to thank in-between our posts when called upon as he was involved in two big moments that kept things level. On the half hour mark Nico Byrne collected a pass just outside the box 25 yards out & he duly found the top corner with a screamer 1-0. The visitors drew level just before the break from the first of our sloppy mistakes. Second half we again started the better team re-gaining the lead when centre mid Kyle Murphy got his first goal for the Club as he cushioned a crisp effort that had rebounded to him & he placed it top bin, this from our counter attack. From then on we had a number of opportunities that simply didn't materialize due to poor decision making in the final third & the away team then grew in confidence, they couldn't find a way passed our BIG Man in goal as he produced a fine close range stop that had everyone asking how he saved it?!! But then we didn't seem to learn as another mistake made it level again. Que that questionable decision as a flick onwards towards the Ballyfermot's Striker who looked easily two yards offside but the Referee didn't blow & he took his opportunity to put them ahead for the first time in the game. We chased the game not getting much of a reward for the football played & a late forth goal gave all three points to the guests. A hard defeat to take but as always we will try take the positives from this game, we will regroup & look to kick onwards.
