A Historic Year for the Lions
The Lions ended 2024 at the summit of the Regional 2 Thames League (Level 6) with an impressive record of 11 wins from 12 matches. Their sole loss came against HAC in round 4, but since then, the Lions have been unstoppable, claiming top spot with a one-point advantage and a game in hand over their nearest rivals, HAC. A thrilling rematch awaits in the first fixture of 2025, promising fireworks to kick off the new year.

Not to be outdone, the Lions B's have also dominated their league, sitting atop the Middlesex Merit Division 1 with 7 wins from 8 games. The Club now boasts the remarkable achievement of both teams leading their respective leagues at the season's halfway point—a testament to the depth of talent and commitment across the teams.

Building a Rugby Community
Off the field, the Lions have continued to grow their player base, regularly fielding two strong teams each weekend. Even more impressively, the Club fielded a 3rd XV, the "Extra B's," for the first time and came tantalisingly close on other occasions. With just a few more players, the prospect of a regular 3rd XV becomes increasingly realistic— a milestone that would further cement the Club’s growth and inclusivity.

Training sessions on Wednesday evenings regularly see over 40 players attending, a clear indication of the Club’s thriving community spirit and competitive environment.
