1. The Early Years 2004-2009

The Nottingham Scorpions Australian Rules Football Club was formed in 2004. The first four seasons were played in the BARFL Regional League against Bristol Dockers, Reading Kangaroos & Swindon Devils.

2004 - 3rd
2005 - Premiers
2006 - Runner Up
2007 - 5th

The next two seasons saw the Nottingham Scorpions, Bristol Dockers, Manchester Mosquitoes and Reading Kangaroos move to the AFL Great Britain London Social League (3rd Division) to seek stronger competition. Playing 14- or 12-a-side, other teams included South London (Wandsworth) Demons, Ealing (West London) Emus, Bounds Green (North London) Lions, Putney Magpies and Reading Kangaroos. All three regional teams showed that they could match any 3rd division London team. But the long drive to London and lack of committment by London teams to play away games and support regional clubs left the regional teams wanting for a better competition.
