David James Mallinder (currently working for England Rugby as a Performance Pathway coach) was the Premiership title-winning Director of Rugby of Northampton Saints and the former head coach of Sale Sharks, England Under 21s and England Saxons.
He began playing rugby at school and progressed into Senior rugby at Old Crossleyans. Jim moved to Roundhay in 1987 where he played for 2 seasons before joining Sale Sharks.
At Sale played nearly 400 games for the club and during this time, won 2 England caps.
Jim remains a big supporter of the club and in 2015 returned to Broomfield, donating his time as an after-dinner speaker.
