NOTE: Paddock Wood FC U18 Rapids folded at the end of the 2023/24 season due to a number of players deciding not to continue and unable to recruit sufficiently to field a side. A few of the remaining players have moved onto the Senior team and anyone interested in joining should contact the club email: paddockwoodfc@gmail.com

Welcome to the Paddock Wood Football Club Under 18 Rapids page. This section caters for players currently in Year 12 (as at September 2023). We are a local club that caters for local players and our ethos is that everyone gets to play.
We train midweek on Tuesdays at the Elm Tree/Mascalls from 7 - 8.30pm with the Senior team, Wednesdays at Mascalls 3G from 7 - 8pm from September. The venue changes during the season, so please see the fixtures page. Further training sessions are held on Saturdays from 9.30 - 11am at St Andrews Park, except on match weekends.
New players (boys and girls) are always welcome to come and join us for a few tasters at our training sessions. Players should wear training kit, studded boots, shin pads and bring full water bottles. Metal studs are not allowed when playing on the Mascalls 3G pitch. If the player decides to join, then there is an initial club registration fee (£45 for 2023/24) and then a £3 training fee or £5 match fee each time they attend.
The Rapids play in the Crowborough League for the 2022/23 season. New players will initially be able to train and play in any friendly matches. Longer term they will be considered for selection for the League team.
History: The UU7 team was formed in the 2012/13 season with the current manager taking over the team the following season. The U7 Dragons played 5-a-side in the Crowborough League and added a second Knights team in the 2014/15 season as U8s. The League then moved to 7-a-side and with the squad continuing to grow a further Archers team was added post Christmas for the 2015/16 season for the U9s. For the 2017/18 season the format changed from 7v7 to 9v9 matches on bigger pitches, bigger goals and longer matches (one hour). The squad combined the U10 Archers and Knights teams to become the U11 Rapids. The U10 Dragons became the U11 Revolution. For 2018/19 the Rapids moved into the U12s League, however the Revolution team played up a year in the U13s section. For the 2019/20 season the U13 Rapids moved to 11-a-side being the only Paddock Wood FC team in this age group. During the 2022/23 season, the team won Division C with 14 wins out of 14, got to the semi-final of the League Cup (losing on penalties) and took part in two summer tournaments (Plate semi-final in one).
During the summer we also enter several local tournaments, including our own. All players are eligible for these.
