Rattrays XI F.C. was formed in 1947. We were originally the works side for the now defunct Rattrays joinery firm in the Hardgate.
Jimmy Cummings and George Morrison, who worked for the firm started the team and entered the newly formed amateur league in the city, which was split into Eastern and Western Divisions. Rattrays are the only club from that first season still competing in the Aberdeenshire Amateur FA.
Billy Allan, Mr Rattrays, was a player with the original Rattrays team of the 40's, and has remained with the club to this day, having filled the roles of player, manager and secretary. Now in his early-90's, his love of the Ratts is as great now as it was 70 years ago
