USF earned its 4 try bonus point within 20 minutes of the first half, against a spirited University of North Florida, leading to a 70 to 5 WIN.
USF first half discipline was exemplory, giving away ZERO penalties and ZERO Free Kicks.
On the other hand, inspite of vigorous defence, UNF became their own worst enemies, giving away reckless penalties and turning the ball over to a hungry USF defence.
USF's set piece (Scrum and Line Out) won 100% of their own ball and almost 100% of UNF ball. With a constant supply of possession from USF set pieces, excellent recycling of the ball from rucks and a strong defensive line, USF ran rampant scoring 11 tries (plus 1 Penalty Try) to give a final scoreline of 70 to 5 (32 to 0 at Half Time).
With a solid first half performance, USF was able to start bringing on its Finishers early in the second so that ALL 23 players were able to have quality playing time.
Scorers:
2 Tries each to Mike Burrell & Matt Bradley and 1 try each to Cameron Leclair, Sergey Zaprudin, Bryce Pinto, Sean Johnson, Chris Zinn, Murray Alford and Lukas Repiso
4 Conversions to Jordan Haggard
1 Penalty Try
