The Virginia Beach Falcons are proud to announce a new partnership with the highly acclaimed Tiger Rugby program. This affiliation represents a major improvement in the club's ability to develop high-performance athletes for the next level, including the USA Eagles and fast-approaching PRO Rugby Association.
Originially a local touring side, Tiger Rugby has developed into a premiere sevens side that tours the globe as well as a High Performance Olympic Development Academy that opened in 2012. The academy was established to identify and train the next generation of rugby stars. For more information on the academy, visit the Tiger Rugby Website
The partnership allows a certain number of Falcons to attend the Academy free of charge. Beach RFC is also in talks with Tiger Rugby to host a Regional Combine specifically for the professional rugby league (PRO Rugby) that is expected to open its inaugural season in 2016. Stay tuned for additional details on the Combine.
Virginia Beach invites conversion athletes (football, basketball, baseball, soccer, track & field, lacrosse, wrestling, etc) to join our club for the spring season for your opportunity to take advantage of this monumental opportunity. Conversion athletes have seen recent success at the national level such as Carlin Isles (track star) and Perry Baker (Arena football player), who are expected to be vital pieces to the USA Eagles National Rugby Team at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
Virginia Beach RFC expects to announce official details regarding the upcoming player interest meeting in several weeks. The tentative date for the meeting is currently set for 2/5/16.
