Flanker Simon Dart and wing Andrew "Flash" Wright lead the team with two tries each after the first game of the season last weekend at Roanoke. They will need to continue their strong performances to keep up their try-scoring lead with center Brandon Smith returning to the lineup this weekend against Blackwater RFC. The Falcons expect a physical game from Blackwater as is usually the case in this matchup, but their focus remains on speed of play and wearing down the Blackwater defense quickly.
Although the Falcons return several other veterans including hooker Sean Christopher and flanker Ben Budzek, the Falcons also have several new faces this season that are already making a positive impact on the team. Hard-hitting Samoan Koriano Leifi has filled in nicely at the 8-man position and speedster Joe "Shifty" Berrios will make his mark at fullback this weekend. Look for rookies Alex Scott and Karon Adams to have a major impact substituting into the back line as fatigue sets in with the starters. Newcomer Joe Schmeer should also see significant time on the field as well.
Virginia Beach is excited with the direction the team is heading and looks to continue tearing through its opposition on a week-to-week basis, taking advantage of a four-game home stand. The Falcons appreciate your support and hope to see plenty of fans out at the game this Saturday, 9/19/15, for a 2:00pm kickoff. The game will be played on Field 5 of the Princess Anne Athletic Complex, located at 4001 Dam Neck Rd. We look forward to seeing you there! Roll Beach!
