Tuesday 25 February 2014.

Minutes of the ‘Clubs meeting’ held on Tuesday 18 February 2014
in Lowca ARLFC, commencing at 7.15pm.

1. Roll call: -
1.1 Ellenborough R., Flimby, Hensingham, Lowca, Maryport and Seaton
Rangers.

2. Absentees: -

2.1 Askam, Egre R, Glasson R, Kells and Wath Brow Hornets, rule to be
applied, clubs fined £10.00 for non-attendance.

3. Approval of the minutes from the previous meeting: -

3.1 The minutes of the previous ‘Clubs Meeting’, held on Tuesday 11
June 2013,were approved and accepted as a true record. Proposed
by Lowca and seconded by Hensingham.
Carried, all in favour.

4. Matters arising from those minutes: -

4.1 There were no ‘Matters Arising’ raised from the minutes of the
June 2013 meeting.

5. Correspondence: -

5.1 The Secretary relayed to the meeting the letter received from K J
Commons Solicitors (which everyone should have received a copy via
email) relating to an incident that occurred in April 2012. After
a lengthy discussion regarding the contents of the letter, the
clubs present took a unanimous vote in favour of becoming full
members of the RFL so that we are covered legally if any such further incidents of this nature occur in the future.

5.2 A copy of the ‘Operational Rules, has been received from the RFL,
again everyone should have received a copy. You are asked to
browse through them and if you have any concerns then please get
in touch.

5.3 BARLA have informed us that this seasons entry fee for the BARLA
Youth Cumbria Cup Competition, will be £5-00 per team.

6. Registrations: -

6.1 The Registrations Secretary informed the meeting that
registrations are coming in very slowly and at the rate they are
coming in; there will be no fixtures on the opening week-end of
the season. If clubs can get their registrations to Alan Davidson
he will get them processed within the next few days.

7. Fines: -

7.1 All outstanding fines leading up to this ‘Clubs Meeting’ have
been.

7.2 Askam fined £10-00 for non-attendance at this the February ‘Clubs
Meeting’.

7.3 Egre R fined £10-00 for non-attendance at this the February ‘Clubs
Meeting’.

7.4 Glasson Rangers fined £10-00 for non-attendance at this the

February ‘Clubs Meeting’.
7.5 Kells fined £10-00 for non-attendance at this the February ‘Clubs
Meeting’.

7.6 Wath Brow Hornets fined £10-00 for non-attendance at this the
February ‘Clubs Meeting’.

For future reference –
All clubs are reminded that all fines must be paid to the
treasurer within 28 days of the fine being imposed; failure to do
so will result in the fine being doubled. This fine must then be
paid within the next 14 days and failure to do so will result in
all club fixtures (open age included)being suspended until such
times as the fine is paid.

8. Fixtures: -

8.1 A copy of the present fixtures were available for clubs to take
away with them after tonight’s meeting, there has been a changes
to the U12s and U14s fixtures from the previous fixture list that
was sent out, due to Wath Brow Hornets now entering a team at
U12s level, and the withdrawal of Maryport from the U14s set up.

8.2 It is still the intention to try and complete the U12s and U14s
league fixtures by the end of July.

8.3 The U16s will play through the summer months until completion.
Their fixtures will mostly be played on Sundays, but clubs can re-
arrange any fixture to a mid-week date if they so wish.

9. BARLA Update: -

9.1 No updates have been received from BARLA.

10. Referees Society Update.
10.1 Due to Lee’s unforeseen absence, no information relating to the
Referees Society could be given.

11. County Manager (RFL) Update.

11.1 There is currently a Level 2 coaching course running with 17
applicantsattending.

11.2 Two Safeguarding Courses’ have taken place recently.

12. Any other business: -

12.1 The Secretary informed the meeting that a sponsor had been
secured for the 2014 season, purely to the hard work of Les Fox,
secretary for Kells ARLFC.The GMB and Unite Unions at
Sellafield have very generously donated £1000- 00 to the Youth
League and we are very grateful to their very generous offer.

12.2 Most clubs have still not returned the ‘Club Contact Sheet’ that
was asked to be filled in and returned. It was asked that the
forms be resent out again to the clubs that were at fault.

12.3 Clubs were asked to inform the Secretary in any changes had been
made regarding their club contact for the League.

12.4 Clubs were asked to inform the League Secretary if any coach
within their particular club would be interested in coaching the
West Cumbria U14s or U16s in their ‘State of Origin’ fixture
against Barrow on the 22 June.

There being no further business to discuss, the chairman closed the
meeting by informing all present that the next Clubs Meeting would
be held on Tuesday 27 May 2014 in Lowca ARLFC, meeting to commence
at 7.15pm.
