The season 2015-16 is a very exciting year!!

Not only is it the year of the Rugby World Cup here in England which is the greats of the game come to our shores to compete for the Webb Ellis Trophy. We have 3 matches here in Newcastle with current World Champions New Zealand taking on Tonga. And Scotland playing the mighty Springboks and Samoa.

2015 is our 140th anniversary as a Rugby Union Club, a fantastic achievement concerning we still only have one pitch.
To celebrate the event the decision has been taken to add to the clubs name. We do not want to lose our heritage as Westoe RFC, but we also want to celebrate the town we all come from - so from this season we will be known as 'South Shields Westoe RFC' but still Westoe to our supporters and friends.
