It's been another busy couple of weeks at the Eyrie, with some comings and goings as the squad takes shape for the final quarter of the season.
Departing the Eyrie is Dequane Wilson-Braithwaite. The young defender has dual registered with Cheshunt, in order to get some more game time. Also leaving on dual registration is Ben Baker. Ben continues his recovery from injury at the start of the season, and has joined Waltham Abbey to get game time. Both remain part of the registered Eagles squad for the season, and can return as and when required.
The club are delighted to announce that Jameson Horlick's loan with Luton has been extended. Jameson originally joined the Eagles in the middle of January on a months loan. All parties are happy with his progression and therefore he has today signed on loan for the remainder of this season. We would like to thank everyone Luton for their assistance in allowing this to happen. Lee Bircham is delighted that we have a reliable keeper for the run in.
In addition to Horlick, the club have signed three work experience players from EFL clubs over the last fortnight. Ellis Bates, an 18 year old defender has joined from Stevenage. Ellis made his debut in last Saturday's win over Bromsgrove Sporting at the Eyrie.
We also welcome 17 year old Harrison Bradney from Oxford United. He joins us to gain experience in senior football and is available for selection immediately. Finally, 18 year old Chase Medwynter has joined from Milton Keynes Dons.
All three players are on work experience agreements with their EFL clubs, and are available for Lee Bircham to use as and when required for the remainder of the season.
The Supporters Club are running a bus to tomorrow's fixture at AFC Sudbury. Places are still available on this, with it leaving the Eyrie at 11:15am. If you would like to secure your space on it, please contact the Edmunds on 01234 381213 or alternatively, email bedfordeagles.sc@outlook.com
The Supporters Club are also taking bookings for our away trip to Redditch United on Saturday 15th March. This game is a free entry game for all in attendance, at the request of Redditch United. Therefore, please make the effort to support the club by travelling by coach where you are able!
A reminder to all supporters that next weekends Eagles football fix is on FRIDAY night. We kick off against historic rivals Kettering Town at 7:45pm (21st February). Tickets for this fixture, and all remaining home fixtures, are on sale now. You can purchase them via the Bedford Town Box Office by clicking here...
The whole club would like to join the rest of the Non League community in extending our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Devonte Aransibia, who suddenly passed away earlier this week. Devonte was only with us earlier this season, and was a quiet and friendly figure in the dressing room. He will be missed around the game.
We also extend our best wishes to the family and friends of Rhys Price, whose funeral has taken place today. Once more, it is another passionate Eagle, who is flying over us.
The club have been surveyed by the PitchingIn Southern League regards the fixtures for next season. The major talking point was to do with whether fixtures should be played on Good Friday or Easter Saturday. As a club, we have experimented previously with a change to Good Friday, but would be keen to know fans opinion on whether games should remain on Easter Saturday, or move to Good Friday. Feel free to comment on social media regards this, or speak to club officials on a match day.
Chloe continues to work hard to get sponsorship in. There are some fantastic offers for match sponsorship, ball sponsorship as well as larger scale opportunities. If this is something that you as a company or individual would be interested in, please contact her at the club. Our match day hospitality packages also are on sale for all home games until the end of the season. If you are looking to mark a special occasion, please speak to Chloe as to how we can make that happen at the Eyrie.
Finally, the club was ground graded in line with Stadium Power last week. There are two small issues which need to be addressed around the ground. We remain confident these can be addressed before the end of the season, enabling the Eyrie to achieve a step three status. Other clubs remain in a worse situation than us on this, and we wait to observe what will happen to them as the 31st March deadline approaches.
Safe travels to those who are making the journey to Suffolk tomorrow! #COYE.
