Peter Arthur Wells played in goal for Clifton All Whites between 1967 and 1975 while being in the Nottingham Forest Youth team.

He played 27 times for Nottingham Forest before moving to Southampton where he was between the sticks 141 times over 7 seasons.

His final games were in London for Millwall and finally for Orient. All in all he made 349 professional football appearances in goal.
