6. Gary Birtles
Date of Birth 27th July 1956
Gary Birtles came from Attenborough Colts to play in the Senior Division 1 of the Notts Youth League in the 1972/73 season.
A regular goaltaker he scored a hat trick against Beauvale on the 24th September 1972.
He moved from Clifton All Whites on to Long Eaton United where working as a carpet fitter he was signed by Nottingham Forest and went on to win medals in the 1979 and 1980 European Cup Finals.
He was also capped three times by England. He moved to Manchester United where he scored 12 goals in 64 games. In 511 professional games he scored 131 goals
