The Murray brothers were mint for Kingswood Castle as they progressed to round three of the Leinster Junior Shield with victory in St Mary’s Park on Saturday afternoon.

Brothers Alex and Steven Murray shared three goals between them in the first half of an exciting cup game.

As it turned out all three first half strikes were needed as Donnycarney mounted a second half comeback.

Castle got of to a perfect start and were ahead after just 9 minutes when Stephen Sheerin, who impressed in the middle of the park, played in Steven Murray and the front man rounded the keeper and slotted home.

The visitors were on top and before 15 minutes had past Alex Murray and centre half came close with differing efforts.

Another dazzling ring from winger Cillian Rohan eventually lead to the second the left sided wide man beat two defenders before being taken down in the box by a third forcing the referee to point to the spot.

Two became 3-0 as an over lap by right winger Martin Corbett in the 30th minute his back post cross met Steven Murray’s left foot as he slid in for he’s second of the game.
