2. The 1st Captains

The Early Years:

The Warriors 1st Captain was Raymond Kenneth Millet. A Trimsaran product who had played youth rugby with Jonathan Davies, Ray's 3 seasons in charge oversaw the club's beginnings from an occasional team to a recognised club. Ray provided a big presence for the club in the back row and his gentlemanly conduct off field set a high standard that continues to stand the club in good stead.

He was succeeded by his friend and fellow back row forward David Newson.
Dai continued Ray's good work and reigned for 4 years as the club became established within and around Llanelli. Frequently the season's top try scorer David didn't miss a game throughout his career and also turned out for Burry Port. The club was lucky to have the stability provided by these two Captains at their genesis and during their formative years.

During David's term the club went on it's 1st tours. Ed Williams headed the 1st trip to Devon but despite a Man of the Match performance couldn't prevent the team losing to a strong Teignmouth side. Jason Jenkins had better luck in Southend when the Warriors beat the local side to capture the Mythical Essex Shield.
