3. Warriors' Captains continued

After having just 2 captains in 7 seasons there followed a period of one season stands:
Next to lead the club was 2nd row forward 'Jumpin' John Horwood. Despite having no previous rugby experience, John had establshed himself as the club's leading lineout exponent whilst off field was usually at the heart of club sing-songs.

Jason Jenkins used his experience gained as tour Captain to good effect, when he led the club from the hooker's berth in 03/04 before handing over to his front row colleague and close friend Colin Talcon. 2004/05 was the Warriors 10th season and their longest to date coinciding with their 100th fixture and other notable land marks. The team also toured abroad with Dai Edwards leading a 3 match unbeaten tour of New Zealand.

2nd row Roger Thomas followed, the 1st Captain not to have played under Ray Millet during the formative years before handing the reigns back to Jason Jenkins for a second stint. Richard Evans was in charge when the team secured an impressive win on tour at Jed Forest.

2007/08 saw the 1st back to Captain the side when wing/full back Tony Whittaker led the team and the following season Jonathan Kerr became at 21, the youngest player to head the team.
That season's tour to Scotland was led by wing Joshua Crowther.

Simon Jenkins was appointed Captain for the Warriors 15th season and retained it the follwoing year, the 1st player do do this since Dai Newson.
In 2011/12 2nd row Darren 'Pretty' Pollitt was voted as Captain and landed a trophy in his 1st match. leading the team to victory in the Origin Cup at Burry Port (see pic). Another 2nd row Rhydian Williams led the tour to Bradford.

Pretty Polly was followed by Epic Horridge for the successful 12/13 season but a move to England meant he was not an option the next season and the honour fell to Graham Mosser. who led by example ending with him winning Player Of The Tournament in the TRI Unions Cup and getting top points scorer. Unfortunatley Graham also wasn't able to keep coming to matches and so for the 2nd season a new Captain was a necessity. The club had made 2 tours for the 1st time, Nathan Lawson leading the TRI Unions Cup bid, and Andrew 'Bambi' Davies taking charge for the H Bomb.

Andrew was chosen to lead the side for the 14/15 season and did well enough to retain the role for the next season. Veteran John Horwood was picked to head the Warriors tilt at the International Mixed Ability World Tournament and renown tourist Huw Jenkins led the team back to Bradford.

Powerful prop/No 8 Dai Haines was the next at the helm for the next domestic season (16/17) and fellow front Richard Evans had the honour of leading the side to New Zealand and Samoa.

Richard obviously did a fine job and was selected as Captain for 2018/2019. With the profile of mixed ability rugby on the rise, especially in Wales, Richard was an important figure head for the club and held his role through the next 3 seasons. This led into the lost season of 21/22 when Covid wiped out all but 1 match. 2017/18 saw Simon Day lead the trip to London Welsh and Tomos Hall the summer trip to Bradford. The 2019/20 season saw a tour to Cork in Ireland captained by Dan Grinter.

Having equalled Dai Newson's record of 4 seasons, Richard stepped aside and Tomos Hall was elected to lead the club in 21/22 during which the club celebrated their 25th anniversary (technically the season before).
