These are the rules for junior football, as set-out by the Cardiff & District League.
Age Groups
Junior football refers to the following age groups: U12, U13, U14, U15 & U16
Referees
Referee fees per match are GBP14 (as at April 2010)
League appointed referees and cup matches, both teams pay £7
In Cup matches away teams should provide the referee
Substitutes
Seven substitutes may be nominated and five used per team allowed during a game
Leagues
In junior leagues, where teams are joint on points at the top of a league, the winners will be decided via a play-off. If this is a draw still after extra time, joint winners will be awarded.
Postponements
In the event of any match being postponed both clubs must immediately inform the League Match Secretary in writing within five days or be fined GBP5.
Duration of games
U16, U15 & U14 - 80 minutes (minimum 50 minutes)
U13 & U12 - 70 minutes (minimum 45 minutes)
Minimum minutes must be mutually agreed by both teams
Failure to complete fixture
Should a team be unable to fulfil a fixture they must inform the league immediately. Such notification does not prevent a team being dealt with under Rule 14.
Rule 14 - Any team in the junior league divisions failing to fulfil their league engagements shall at the discretion of the League Council have 3 points deducted from their record.
Result Cards
Result cards with named players and substitutes must be handed to the referee before the kick-off
Secretaries of both teams must forward the result card on the day of the match to the League Match Secretary or be fined £5
Grounds
Unless notified by the council, teams should proceed to the field of play and await the referees decision. If the match is not played the home team must pay the referee half the fee.
