Port Vale FC
Academy
Vision of the Academy
The Ultimate vision and aim is to provide Port Vale FC with home grown players to support the first team manager and the first team.
Our vision is that Port Vale Academy, staff and partners will work in partnership to becoming the very best Category 3 academy.
The Academy will work towards enhancing the number of players developed into professional footballers, we envisage with our friendly environment each player will be challenged to have a strong work ethic, dedication, honesty, a sense of team, and an individual and collective desire to be the best, this will be visible in everything our teams and club/staff represent.
The Academy will:
• maintain a seasonal average of One Academy Player nominated for the 1st Team Squad (Sam Johnson, Ryan Boot, Ryan Lloyd, Chris Birchall)
• maintain a seasonal average of Two Academy Players signing as Professionals (Lewis Bergin, Billy Reeves, John Kapend, Chekaine Steele, Omar Haughton)
• maintain a seasonal average of Three Academy Players in reserve team matches (7, 7, 4, 7, 8, 3, 3, 7, 1, 1, 4, 7, 1, 3 = 63 starting appearances in 14 matches)
• maintain a seasonal average of Four local Academy Players signing scholarships (6 out of 8 signed were local)
• maintain a seasonal average of Five u16's Academy Players signing Scholarships (8 out of 8 signed were all u16s who had come through the academy system)
The Academy will achieve the above by maintaining and improving the player support "The VALE way" utilising different departments whilst maximizing the financial return on Academy players.
