G’day everybody, now we all know the weekend was a bit of a disappointment for the national squad but to be fair, the English played some pretty decent footy and the injury tally has started to take its toll. But, its good to see a British or even just a northern hemisphere side challenging All Black records and showing that we are doing something right up here.
Today I would like to talk about our upcoming Easter Camp. Now, for those of you who are dedicated readers of this blog, I am sure you have heard about the plans for our camp.
What I am asking of you and everyone who reads this or is involved with the club, please please please share this blog on the old social media and please tell people about it! It may not be your style, it’s certainly not mine but, it really does make a massive difference in the number of people who see it.
This year we are challenging ourselves by trying to organise and promote the camp this year primarily online (club website, Facebook, Twitter and eventbrite). Two reasons why, one, it is easier for us to keep track of how many people will be attending, therefore we can plan better. Two, we are trying to keep up with the times, gone are the days of flyers in the backpack and word of mouth. Tech is where it’s at bro…. sorry
So, what’s on offer this year? How are we making this one bigger and better than previous years?
First off, we have opened-up the age groups. This year we are running groups from the age of p4 right up to s6. Previously we have focused on a much smaller group of players, but with having more coaches and staff this year we have been able to open things up.
Second, the camp is over five days. This is purely so we can accommodate more players. Here is a quick reminder of dates for everyone. April 11th&12th primary 4-7, April 13th Girls S1-6 and April 20th&21st Boys S1-6.
Third, there is going to be a mixture of things on offer. Everything from multi-sports games, strength & Conditioning, video analysis and position specific sessions.
Four, A healthy lunch and snacks are provided. At the end of the day rugby is a sport, to play sport you need to feed your body with the right stuff, so that’s what we’re going to do. Plus, give players and parents tips and tricks on how to get all the healthy stuff in without feeling like a rabbit.
To be honest I could write three pages explaining why you should sign up to the camp but where is the fun in knowing everything. The last thing I am going to leave you with is, the more the merrier! And how are we going to get more people along? By sharing this on social media like there is no tomorrow, telling everyone you know about it, not just your rugby friends but everyone. Every player has a first session, so what could be better than starting at a camp where you can meet loads of like-minded folk from all over the shop.
Watch this space as I am going to be up loading more blogs in the run up to the camp to keep everyone in the loop and hopefully help spread the word.
