4. Match Report - Shelley v Lepton January 7th, 1905

About 300 persons witnessed the match at Shelley on Saturday between Shelley and Lepton.

After 10 minutes play the visitors secured a scrambling goal.

Mosley (Shelley Centre Forward) then got hold of the ball, and scored a smart goal.

In the second half the home team pressed, and Simpson (full back) scored a fine goal from a free kick; and although the home team continued to have the best of the game; the forwards lost many an opening.

The backs played well. Shelley fully deserved their victory of two goals to one.
