BURNLEY Rugby Club held its annual inter club sevens tournament as it prepares to build for the new season ahead.
A total of six teams took part in the competition held at the Holden Road Club with each side & Captained by younger players breaking in to the senior set-up.
And it was Wez Hughes' team who emerged triumphant but only beating a team captained by Josh Brown with a 'golden try' after the match had finished 14-14 after normal' time.
Players celebrated with a - barbecue and a few rewarding beers after the tournament.
The club also held a competitive 15-a-side match at the weekend as coach Simon Finnan looks to pick a team for the first match of the season against Southport in the first round of the Lancashire Cup on Saturday.
The club is still looking for new players who would like to join whether they have played before or completely new to the game.
Training takes place at the club on Holden Rd on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.45pm.
