7. Yorkshire Main

A supporters view.

First full season for mananger Chris Toyne and assistant Simon Fennell. The season stuttered into life but more importantly points were being added to the table and the Main found themselves in a healthy position in the league. As the season approached Christmas and games being cancelled due to unfit pitches and cup gaems the Main lost their cutting edge and the form and momentum which they had suddenly disappeared. Results were not going to plan and with injuries and suspensions taking there toll the Main began to struggle and as a supporter the next win was not looking to be coming soon. The Doncaster F.A. Challenge Cup in January and February saw the Main register victories but there was not much more to cheer. At the begining of March the Main stuttered back to life and began to pick up the odd point here and there. The league position was looking midtable but points were needed to avoid seeking re-election and these were found in April and maintain Central Midlands Football League status. The Doncaster F.A. Challenge Cup saw the Main reach the semi-final but were beaten by Maltby Sheppy. The Main finished the season in 12th position and will be looking to improve on that this coming season.
