Year three and four children from Burnley and Padiham schools visited Burnley Rugby Club to take part in a festival of Tag Rugby. With 19 schools and over 150 children both boys and girls having a go the standard was very high. All children got numerous games of rugby over five groups and then re-pooled.

Organised by the Burnley Schools Sports Partnership and supported by Burnley RUFC Community Rugby their were Howard Metcalf and Joe Haley in support from the club. With Helen Tyson overseeing and thrown into refereeing were Chris Heap and Paddy Martin, who did a excellent job (even when a dog walker strolled through a pitch!!!).

The participating schools were - St Mary's, Cherryfold, Casterton, Whittlefield, St Peter's Wellfield, Holy Trinity, Barden, St Mary Magdalene's, Springfield, Padiham Primary, Christ the King, St John's Burnley, Hapton, St Augustine's, St Joseph's, Worthorne, St Leonard's.
