1. 1st XI 2017/2018

Relegation

This was to be a tough third top-flight season for Braishfield.

After holding their own in recent times, this year they had hoped to kick on and make more of a challenge, but in July they were hit by the sudden departure of manager Matt Payne, who left to seek a new challenge running Totton & Eling Reserves. Inevitably, a few players followed.

The experienced Jon Cook took over, and with assistance from Andy Clark they settled the ship but throughout the campaign were hindered by selection problems and terrible injury problems as incredibly the club suffered 4 broken legs during 2017/18.

Despite this, Braishfield remained tough to beat, in what was again a very close and unpredicatable division. However, they eventually finished second to bottom and slipped back down to the Senior Division. Early exits were made in all the cup competitions.

The Club are very much viewing this as a bit of a blessing and an opportunity to rebuild and bounce back stronger.
